Bodywork is a critical element of any well-designed self-care routine.
As a convenience to our clients, Bikram Yoga Chadds Ford will host a permanent team of massage therapists and bodyworkers.
Christa Laquinta is the first to join this team.
Christa graduated from the Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy and is trained in multiple modalities, including: Deep Tissue, Myofascial, Reflexology, Reiki, Sports, and Swedish.
Laquinta earned B.S. and Nursing degrees from Duquesne University. She works as a pediatric intensive-care nurse. Christa understands the impact of sports and extreme physical activity on the body. She was an elite member of both high school and Division 1 rowing. She is careful to tailor her treatments to the individual client. Her philosophy in massage is: “Live for the moment. Relax, enjoy, and appreciate yourself.”

Barry is currently developing his own proprietary method for dealing with chronic soft tissue adhesions called F.A.S.T. or Friction Assisted Stretch Technique. Barry is generally sought out to treat the pain, injury and dysfunction that other practitioners have been unsuccessful in resolving. Difficult cases are the mainstay of his practice.
Having been a carpenter for much of his life, Barry brings an immense amount of hand strength and endurance to his profession. He is relentless in his pursuit of positive results for his clients. He brings passion, empathy and intellect to bear upon whatever it is that hurts you or holds you back from the function and performance you seek.
Kelly Diamond, Skillful Touch Practitioner, Rolf Institute of Structural Integration
Kelly was introduced to Rolfing by a fellow Bikram practitioner three years ago while seeking relief from a chronic ballet injury. Her first experience with Rolfing was so remarkable that Kelly pursued a certification of her own. As a professional ballerina, Kelly knows first hand what it feels like to live with daily pain. She believes that educating others in the technique of Rolfing can help to free restrictions held in the body and make daily movement easier.
In July 2011, Kelly began her Rolfing training and successfully completed Foundations of Rolfing Structural Integration. She is certified to practice Skillful Touch, a form of bodywork developed at the Rolf Institute. Skillful Touch involved deep, slow and sensitive contact that affects specific body-tissue layers and structures. Some of its therapeutic benefits include relaxation, increased range of motion, flexibility, and body awareness.
Kelly will return to the Rolf Institute in August 2012 for her second unit of training. Upon returning, she will offer the Rolfing Ten Series to clients, too.
Session times range from 75 to 90 minutes. Please contact Kelly directly to schedule an appointment! (603) 340-0578
